Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Camp Point, Illinois
St John Condos helps three-generation families from Camp Point, Illinois, plan a stay in villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands, with a local team that answers questions before you book.
Gathering grandparents, parents, and younger family members for one trip takes more thought than a typical getaway. Camp Point sits in western Illinois, where winters are cold and the summer days are warm and humid, so a trip to a Caribbean island offers a clear change of pace for everyone at the table. Many families in your position want a shared home base rather than separate hotel rooms, and that is the kind of setup this page is about. Planning for a mix of ages means balancing quiet mornings for the older relatives with energy for the younger ones. A villa rented by the week gives room to spread out, cook a few meals together, and retreat to separate spaces when needed. The aim here is a plain, honest picture of how that trip usually comes together, so you can decide what fits your group before anyone books anything.

Getting your Camp Point group to St. John
- Start with the flight. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which uses airport code STT. From there the usual path is a taxi to Red Hook and then the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. With grandparents in the group, it helps to ask early about seating, luggage, and whether anyone needs help moving between vehicles and the boat, so the transfer stays easy for everyone.
- Pick the season carefully. Leaving Illinois in deep winter means trading snow and cold for warm sun, which many families find very appealing. Late spring and the drier months are a comfortable window for mixed ages, since the days stay warm without being overwhelming. Talk through what each generation can handle in heat and travel, then choose the time that suits the oldest and youngest members best.
- Plan the stay as one group. Villas rented by the week give your family a shared base with space for meals, rest, and separate bedrooms. Decide early who needs step-free access, who wants a quiet afternoon, and who would like to spend time together. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so consider whether you want one adult to handle driving or whether you prefer to rely on other arrangements.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa better than a hotel for a three-generation trip from Camp Point?
For many multi-generation groups, a villa works well because everyone can share a kitchen, a living area, and separate bedrooms without crowding. Grandparents can rest in their own space while younger family members stay active. The St John Condos team can explain what a villa stay includes so you can compare it honestly with other options before deciding.
Can the St John Condos team help us plan before we book?
Yes. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can ask about layout, access, the ferry transfer from St. Thomas, and how the week is usually arranged. Sharing your group's needs early helps the team point you toward a stay that fits your family from Camp Point.
