Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Benld, Illinois
St John Condos helps friends from Benld, Illinois, plan a week together on St. John, where villas are rented by the week and the team answers questions before you book.
Planning a week away with friends from Benld means agreeing on a shared place, a shared budget, and a shared sense of how much time to spend together versus apart. A villa at the Westin St John Resort on St. John gives a group one home base with room to gather, cook, swim, and rest without moving between hotels each morning. It is a practical way for a crew to travel together and still keep their own rhythms. Illinois is a long way from the Caribbean, and winter in the Midwest makes an island week especially appealing to many people who live there. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, taking a taxi to Red Hook, and riding the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Once you arrive, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so plan your group's transportation with that in mind before anyone grabs the wheel.

Planning your week from Benld
- Getting to St. John. Most groups from Illinois fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Coordinate arrival times so everyone reaches the ferry together, since waiting on a late flight can cost a group part of its first day. Share your flight details with one person in the group who will track changes.
- Choosing when to leave. Think about when your crew can step away from work and family back home. Winter in Illinois is cold, so many friends prefer to leave during the coldest weeks for a warm reset. Ask your group which dates suit everyone, then pick a stretch that gives people enough rest without making the trip feel rushed or stretched thin.
- Planning the stay. Because villas are rented by the week, a group can settle into one home and share the costs of groceries, cooking, and time together. Decide early who handles the booking, who collects shared payments, and who plans the daily activities. Let the team at St John Condos answer your questions before you book so the whole group feels confident about the details.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to rent a car if we are a group from Benld?
Many groups choose to arrange ground transportation through their own planning rather than assume a car is needed. Keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, which surprises many visitors from the Midwest. Talk with the St John Condos team before you book so you know what to expect on arrival.
Can a group of friends stay together in one villa for a full week?
Yes, villas are rented by the week, which suits a group that wants to share one home for the entire stay. A shared villa keeps everyone together for meals, rest, and planning. Ask the team which villa setup fits your group size and how the week is arranged before you commit.
