Planning your island splurge from Aurora
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from Aurora fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. From there a taxi will take you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little slack into your schedule so you can settle in without rushing, and keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road.
- Picking your season. Because Aurora has cold winters, many travelers choose to leave Iowa during the coldest months, when a warm island feels most like a gift. Think about what matters most to you, whether that is calm weather, a quieter stretch of the year, or a time that fits your work and family obligations. Our team can walk through options with you so the timing suits your plans.
- Planning the stay. Choose a villa that matches the kind of trip you want, then settle on how many days you will stay. Consider how you will get around the island, what you want to pack for the climate, and whether you want time for a slow morning or a planned outing. Send us your questions before you book, and we will help you shape a stay that feels like the splurge you have been waiting for.
