Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Auburn, Iowa
St John Condos helps grandparents, parents, and children from Auburn, Iowa, plan one shared villa stay at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, with a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
A trip with three generations asks a lot of one shared plan. Grandparents want rest and easy mornings, parents want time to unwind, and children want room to explore. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives each group its own space while keeping everyone close enough to share meals and stories. For a family from Auburn, a rental like this can turn a long-planned gathering into something everyone remembers. Auburn sits in the Midwest, where many households are used to planning around cold winters and long summer evenings. St. John offers a very different rhythm, with warm weather, the sea close by, and a slower pace that suits mixed ages. Thinking through who needs stairs, shade, or quiet afternoons will shape the choice of villa and the daily plan. Good preparation makes the trip feel relaxed for every age in the group.

Planning a shared trip from Auburn
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for grandparents to have a bit of help with bags and transfers, and ask the team about the easiest option for your group before you book your flights.
- Choosing when to go. Iowa winters are cold, so many families from Auburn look to the islands during the coldest months at home. Think about school calendars, the needs of older relatives, and how warm you want the days to feel. Driving on St. John is on the left, so consider whether you will rent a car or rely on taxis and the walking your group is comfortable with.
- Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, which gives three generations room to settle in without rushing. Divide the days between shared meals, quiet time, and outings each person enjoys. If your family also talks about a commercial autonomous floor scrubber for a business back home, handle that separately so your holiday stays focused on family.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa better than a hotel room for three generations?
For a mixed-age group, a villa usually gives more space, separate rooms, and a kitchen for simple breakfasts. Grandparents can rest without the noise of the family, and children can play without disturbing anyone. The team at St John Condos can explain the layout of each villa so you can match it to what your group needs.
Can the team help us before we book?
Yes. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, including questions about accessibility, room arrangements, and the travel route from Auburn. Share your group's ages and needs, and the team will help you think through the stay so the trip feels right for everyone.
