Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Princeton, Missouri

St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort for Princeton families who want one shared island base for three generations, and our local team can answer your questions before you book.

Trips that bring grandparents, parents, and younger family members together ask a lot of a plan. Everyone has different energy, different comfort needs, and different ideas about what a good day looks like. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives a multigenerational group room to spread out, with separate spaces for rest and shared areas for meals and conversation, so no one has to give up their routine to join in. Coming from Princeton, Missouri, you are starting from the middle of the country, where winters are cold and the islands feel like a true change of season. Many families find that the contrast is part of the appeal. The pace of St. John is slower, the water is warm, and a rented villa lets the whole group settle in together rather than scattering across separate rooms and schedules.

    Planning Your Trip from Princeton

    1. Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas (STT) and then take a taxi to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. With a larger group and older travelers, it helps to plan the taxi and ferry legs carefully, bring comfortable walking shoes, and keep one bag per person within easy reach. Our team can talk through what suits your group.
    2. Choosing your season. Missouri winters are cold, so many families from Princeton are drawn to the islands during the colder months at home. Think about who in your group handles heat well, who needs shade in the afternoon, and whether a quieter stretch of the year suits your grandparents better. Matching the season to your group's comfort usually makes the biggest difference to how the week feels.
    3. Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, which gives three generations time to settle in without rushing. Before you book, decide which days are for shared activities and which are for rest. Remember that St. John drives on the left, so consider whether you want a car or prefer to arrange transport in advance. A simple shared plan keeps everyone happy and leaves room for spontaneous moments.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a villa better than a hotel room for a family trip with grandparents?

For three generations, a villa often works better because it offers separate sleeping areas, a kitchen for simple meals, and common space to gather. Everyone can keep their own rhythm while still sharing the week together. Our team can help you judge which layout fits your group.

How do we decide when to travel from Missouri to St. John?

Start with the comfort of your oldest and youngest travelers, since they will feel the heat and the travel most. Weigh the cold Missouri season against the island weather you prefer. Once you settle on a window, ask our local team about availability before you commit.
