Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Moravia, Iowa
St John Condos helps travelers from Moravia, Iowa, plan a long-awaited villa stay at the Westin St John Resort, answering questions from a local team before you commit to anything.
For many people in Moravia, a trip to the Caribbean has sat on the calendar for years, waiting for the right season and the right reason. Iowa winters are long and gray, and a villa on St. John offers a clean break from them: warm air, clear water, and a stay measured in full weeks rather than rushed days. Choosing to spend this way is a deliberate decision, and it deserves a plan that feels as considered as the wish behind it. A splurge only feels right when the details are settled. St John Condos is a local team that rents villas at the Westin St John Resort, and we spend our time answering the practical questions that come up before a booking: which villa suits a quiet week, what the grounds are like, and how the island's left-side driving feels to someone used to Iowa roads. You can ask as many questions as you need before you commit.

Planning a splurge from Moravia
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Iowa fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. The ferry is the traditional final leg, and it gives you a first look at the island before you reach your villa. Plan for the transfer as part of the experience rather than an afterthought.
- Choosing when to leave Iowa. Think about the season you want before you think about the flight. Late winter in Moravia is often the hardest stretch to endure, so many travelers aim to be on the islands during that gray period. Consider how you want the trip to feel, whether that means calm shoulder weeks or a busier stretch, and let the weather you want guide the timing.
- Planning the stay itself. Villas are rented by the week, so decide early how many full weeks you want and whether you will want a rental car on the island. Make a short list of what matters most, such as privacy, a view, or room for the whole group. Then bring those priorities to the St John Condos team, who can help match them to the right villa.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa stay on St. John really worth the effort for someone from Moravia?
For many people it is, especially after a long Iowa winter. A villa gives you space, a slower rhythm, and a full week to settle in rather than a short visit. Think honestly about what you want from the trip, and let that decide whether the effort feels worthwhile to you.
What should I ask before booking a villa from so far away?
Ask about the layout, what is included, how the grounds are kept, and what getting around the island is like. Our team at St John Condos answers these questions before you book, so you can choose with confidence and avoid surprises once you arrive.
