Planning a week on St. John from Moberly

  1. Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Ask one person in your group to keep the travel confirmations together so everyone can find them easily. Plan for a little rest before the ferry ride, since the day of travel can feel long after a flight from the middle of the country.
  2. Picking your dates. Northern states such as Missouri have cold winters, so many friends from this part of the country choose to head south during the colder months. The islands stay warm year round, which makes the timing flexible. Talk with your group about school, work, and holiday schedules, then choose a week that suits most people. Our team can share general guidance on the season before you commit.
  3. Setting up your stay. Once your dates are set, agree on a shared budget for groceries, rental cars, and outings so no one feels surprised later. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so anyone who will take the wheel should plan ahead. Divide up the cooking, the planning, and the packing lists. A little organization before you leave makes the whole week feel relaxed.
