Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Merrill, Iowa

St John Condos can help a multigenerational family from Merrill, Iowa, plan a shared villa stay at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands, with room for everyone to gather together.

Planning a trip that brings grandparents, parents, and children into one group takes more thought than a simple getaway. In Merrill, a family may be spread across different ages, energy levels, and comfort needs, and each person wants something a little different from a week away. A villa rented by the week can give everyone their own space while keeping the whole group under one roof. Coming from the Midwest, many travelers find the Caribbean feels like a complete change of pace. Warm water, a slower rhythm, and the quiet of a small island can be a welcome shift from winter skies in Iowa. The Westin St John Resort offers a setting where three generations can spend mornings apart and evenings together, and St John Condos is happy to answer questions before you book.

Getting from Merrill to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and that is the usual starting point for a trip to St. John. From there, a taxi carries you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Plan for a little extra patience with older relatives, and allow room for bags, car seats, and any mobility aids the group may need during transfers.
  2. Pick the season for your group. Iowa winters are cold, so many families from Merrill like to plan a warm-weather escape during the colder months. Consider everyone's comfort when choosing dates, especially for grandparents who may prefer milder days and younger children who may enjoy a school break. Talk with the group early so the timing suits the whole family, not only the person booking.
  3. Plan the stay around everyone. Villas are rented by the week, which gives a multigenerational group room to spread out and settle in. Choose a layout with separate sleeping areas, and sort out shared meals and rest times before you arrive. Keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, so arrange transportation with care. St John Condos can talk through the details with you before you commit.
