Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Lena, Illinois

St John Condos helps families from Lena, Illinois, plan a Caribbean stay at villas on St. John, where you can settle in together for the week and get answers before you book.

Planning a family trip from Lena means balancing many schedules, ages, and wish lists, and the islands can feel far away when you start. Most of the time the simplest path is a rented villa with room to spread out, a kitchen for easy breakfasts, and space for children to play after a day in the water. Warm weather is the draw, and a villa lets everyone share the same base without crowding into one hotel room. Families who come from the Midwest often notice how different the rhythm of island life is from home. Mornings tend to start slowly, and the week can take on a relaxed shape once everyone arrives. We ask what your group hopes to do, how many people are traveling, and what ages are involved, so the plan you build together fits the people who will actually be sleeping under the roof.

Getting from Lena to St. John

1. Reach the airport first. Most visitors from Lena fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and then continue to St. John. From the airport you take a taxi to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry runs to Cruz Bay. Keep the carry-on bag handy for the ferry, and pack snacks and sunscreen for the younger travelers. Ask us which connection suits your family, and we will explain the rest of the route in plain terms.
2. Pick the right season. Lena sees cold winters, so many families from northern Illinois choose the cooler months of the year for a break in the warm islands. Think about school calendars, work leave, and when the children can be away. Driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, which is worth remembering if you plan to rent a vehicle. Talk through the timing with us and we will help you choose the window that works best.
3. Plan the stay with care. Villas are rented by the week, which gives your family room to settle in and set a steady pace. Decide early who is cooking, which days are open for beaches, and whether you want quiet mornings or a full schedule. Share your list of must-haves, such as a pool, space for sleeping, or a short walk to the resort. Our local team can answer questions before you book, so you can enjoy the planning as much as the trip itself.
