Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Ashland, Missouri

St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John for groups of friends planning a week together from Ashland, Missouri, and the local team is glad to answer questions before you book.

A week away with friends is one of the easier trips to plan when everyone agrees on the basics early. Travelers from Ashland, Missouri, often come from a landlocked part of the country where a warm, sunny week on an island feels like a real change of scene. A villa gives your group room to spread out, cook a few meals, and keep the schedule loose, which suits a crew that wants time together without rushing from one thing to the next. Think of the trip as shared space rather than a checklist. St John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, and the pace there tends to be unhurried, so the best plans leave open afternoons for the pool, the beach, or simply sitting on a porch with a cold drink. Before you commit, talk through what each friend hopes to get from the week, and let the villa's layout and the group's habits guide how you divide the days.

Getting from Ashland to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, using the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Ask your group to share flight details early so everyone can coordinate pickups and keep the transfers simple. Keep carry-ons manageable for the ferry, and plan on everyone having what they need for the crossing.
  2. Pick your departure window. Leaving a landlocked state like Missouri means packing for a warm climate, even if winter is the season you are escaping. Think about what time of year suits your crew, and whether a quieter stretch fits better than a busy holiday week. Agree on a departure date as a group so that rentals, travel days, and time off from work line up for everyone before anyone books.
  3. Plan the week together. Villas are rented by the week, which makes a seven-day stay a natural fit for a group. Decide early who handles the booking, how costs will be shared, and who does the grocery run. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so anyone renting a car should plan a short practice drive. Build in a few unscheduled days so the week feels like a getaway instead of a tour.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to be a small group to rent a villa together?

Villas suit a range of group sizes, and the St John Condos team can talk through which layouts work for your friends. Share your expected headcount and any needs for sleeping arrangements, since a clear picture early makes the choice easier. The team answers these questions before you book, so you can settle the details with confidence.

What if the trip is planned from Ashland but some friends are coming from elsewhere?

That is common, and it helps to choose one person as the point of contact for the group. Share arrival plans, including the route through St. Thomas and the ferry to Cruz Bay, so everyone knows what to expect. Keeping one shared itinerary avoids confusion when friends arrive on different days.
