Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Adair, Iowa
St John Condos helps friends from Adair, Iowa, plan a shared week of villa living on St. John, where the island's calm pace suits a group that wants time together. Ask us before you book and we will talk through the details with you.
A week away with friends from Adair often starts with a simple wish: a place where everyone can relax, cook together, and talk late without anyone feeling rushed. Adair sits in the heart of Iowa, where winters are cold and the landscape is flat and open, so many travelers look forward to the warm air and clear water of the Virgin Islands. St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort, and we know that a group of friends needs room to spread out while still sharing a common space. Planning a trip for several people means balancing personal preferences with shared plans. Some friends want quiet mornings on a porch, while others prefer to head out for a walk or a swim. A villa gives everyone a place to retreat, and the week gives you enough time to settle in. We are a local team, and we are happy to talk through how a group from Adair might divide the days so that nobody feels left out.

Getting your Adair crew to St. John
- Start with the flight. Most visitors from Adair fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT. Gathering everyone onto one itinerary can take some coordination, so agree on a target arrival day early. Once the group knows where it is flying in from and when, the rest of the travel plan tends to fall into place with much less back and forth.
- Cross to the island. From the St. Thomas airport, a taxi takes you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Pack light enough to carry your own bags onto the ferry, since a group with lots of luggage can make the transfer slower. Driving on St. John is on the left, so if anyone in the group plans to rent a car, tell them to keep that in mind.
- Choose your season. Adair experiences cold winters, so many friends from Iowa aim for the months when the islands feel most welcoming to them. Think about what your group values most, whether that is calm weather, fewer visitors, or a particular time of year when everyone's schedules line up. Once you settle on a window, it becomes much easier to plan the villa stay and the travel around it.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa a good choice for a group of friends from Adair?
For most groups, yes. Villas are rented by the week, which gives everyone room to spread out and a shared space to gather in the evenings. Cooking a few meals together can also keep costs and logistics simple, and the setting gives your group plenty of room to unwind without a packed schedule.
How should our group plan the stay once we arrive?
Talk about your priorities before you land. Some groups like a loose plan with plenty of open time, while others want to settle on a few shared activities. St John Condos can answer questions about the villa and the resort before you book, so you can match the stay to what your friends from Adair are hoping for.
